Procladius. M-Cu crossvein and forked R2+3 = Tanypodinae, long stem of Cu = Procladiini. |

A serious thank you John, but my interest in Diptera is just a general one My main interest is in Hemiptera, even here I struggle with the venation. All said and done the venation keys are imo a valuable asset to flying insect identification no matter what. Thanks again,

This is probably subgenus Psilotanypus and as far as I know you have only two species, P. rufovittatus and P. flavifrons. Your other subgenus is usually a dull, dark grey/brown without distinct stripes. As a title "Chironomidae: Procladius" would do. Diptera is redundant in this forum. |
