In my ignorance, I see it similar to other specimens identified as Chironomus. Is it?. Could be identified more accurately? Is about one centimeter long. In the wetland Pond Suarez in Motril, Granada, Spain. ![]() A greeting and grateful for your help. Edited by Maherjos on 13-02-2011 19:48 |

It is a male of tribe Chironomini. It is likely in the group of genera containing Chironomus, based on appearance and what I can see of terminal appendages. Somebody who knows European species may recognize it. Few Chironomidae are as long as 1 cm, head to tail. |
