Yes, it is Haematopota sp. male. Quite impossible genus, so unlikely to get certainty about the species

WEll, this one is very black with very black antennae, so if that is not a trick of the light, this must be the male of H. crassicornis. Theo |

Hi Ruud Thank you for confirmation! Hi Theo Pic was only with available light, no flash. Comparing with the blade of grass, the colour of the tabanidae is very grey/black (head/antennae). Only the wings shows "warmer" colours. "Calibration" of colours in my camera is set on "natural", so no "warm" colour should be added. Thank you!
