I'm going to make a guess and say Lypha dubia ... but it is a bit of a guess - time of year, mottled dusting, brown base colour etc. If we could see the pteropleural bristle and metathoracic spiracle then we would know for sure Also, can you try to make each title/subject different? There are just a few threads called "Tachinidae" at the moment and in the "New Posts" screen they all look the same now

Well, if Theo thinks it is Phorocera obscura then I would go along with that. I think I was just confused because the abdomen isn't quite as elongated as I am used to (I don't see many) and I think I am used to the image of males, which have a slightly more distinctive shape

Yes it is and given the better view on the antennae, I still think it is Phorocera obscura Theo |
