Any chance it could it be from the sub-family that Linnaemyia hails from Chris? They both seem to have that pretty long seta on the mid femora, and an elongate A3. (either that, or I'm showing more holes in my knowledge of Tachs than there are in a tea-bag). Edited by Jason G on 04-01-2011 19:47 London's Insects http://londoninve...hostia.com |

Aaahhhh ... well, I am not sure how this fly will change in shape and colour, let alone what the wing venation will be. I can't convince myself that it has a projecting mouth edge or a yellow basicosta ... so I doubt that it is Linnaemya really

Shows the importance of knowing what to look for then, as opposed to finding more 'superficial similarities'. I'll get pouring the tea then... Edited by Jason G on 04-01-2011 23:30 London's Insects http://londoninve...hostia.com |
