Hello Here is a tachinid to French Guiana, I have Thelaira with the manual of Wood, but it looks more like a "Tachinini". I need help to determine these tropical species. Are there any key of determination? do you have any ideas? decerf jean-jacques attached the following image: ![]() [59.53Kb] Edited by decerf jean-jacques on 05-12-2010 17:39 |

Hi - the photo isn't displaying so check the criteria - no spaces or unnecessary punctuation in the file name and keep the size <190KB ![]() I have been working on French Guianan tachinids so I am very interested to see what you have seen there. The region is quite poorly studied and there are no keys that can help you but when The Manual of Central American Diptera (volume 2) is published then Monty Wood's key there will give you some ideas. But you have to remember that it might not work for anything up to 60% of the fauna you will find in French Guiana ![]() You might like to see my pages here: http://chrisraper...nch-guiana Edited by ChrisR on 05-12-2010 12:47 Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London. |
