Could anybody tell me if this is Scathophaga inquinata? I took the photo's 14-05-2010 in the eastern part of the Netherlands on our farm. Swampy and sandy soil.

Hallo Roger, Indeed it does! I never expected another genus than Scathophaga. Could it also be another Tetanocera or is it certain that this fly is Tet. arrogans? I have no key of Sciomyzidae. Thank you so much! Edited by Corryabbink on 30-11-2010 00:35 |

With me it is never certain I'm afraid, (I only take photo's of flies). If you edit the heading on your first post to Sciomyzidae, this will attract others on this site who ARE experts. Regards Roger |
