Tanytarsini from Massachusetts, USA, May 2009. Is genus ID possible? Additional views: Thorax, Head, Wing, Genitalia 1, Genitalia 2  I darkened this picture to make the midge more visible. It looked nearly transparent. Wing length 1.6mm. John Carr attached the following image:  [186.88Kb] |

There are several species of Stempellinella in northeast North America. Note the long R4+5 here. I thought that ruled out Stempellinella. |

So it isnt Stempellni sub-tribe, i cant see appendeges of genitalia, and pectens of t3 and t2, thats why a cant say anithing about genus/// And i dont know nothing about north americn fauna.
