Hi, I don't think it is Tachinidae. I think Sarcophagidae, Miltogramminae. Nikita Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |

Formaly they distinguish by the shape of scutellum, it isn't visible on image. So, I replied by general impression and I'm not sure ("I think- I don't think). Nikita This year, in June, when I met in Turkey my first (and so far last) Miltogramminae, I thought it is Tachinidae too... Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |

Well, it IS a Tachinid, though a rather aberrant one, agreed: Microphthalma europaea. Theo Zeegers |

I google for it, but there are just checklists... no so much info about this one. I found a german site that talks a little about this fly. Could you provide some ecology info about this fly in particular? It seems that this fly is a rare sight (it doesn?t mean that is uncommon). Thank you a lot for you all! |
