Hello, Occasionally I see a Polietes which has a more orange face than P. lardarius. I thought I had Polietes meridionalis last year then found out that it's not listed as being here! But, it is here... http://www.dipter...ecies.html This one I took on the 20th October, only the side view. They feed on Ivy, my garden near Lincoln UK. Is this Polietes meridionalis? I don't know what the difference is on the hind tibia bristles but the face and spiracle do look like it. 1 pic + 1 crop. (I can crop a close view of the hind tibia if needed) Janet

I have no doubt that this is a female Polietes meridionalis.

Thank you Stephane, now I don't feel so silly for making a mistake I didn't make last year!
