I apologize for posting multiple postings, but these flies are quite a tough group for a newbie like myself to ID properly. It appears this is Chymomyza amoena, but when i tried identifying it using Scudder & Cannings (2006) i got Ephrydidae. Is this a good reference at all? It could very well be Chymomyza amoena, though I think there were more species of Chymomyza with banded wings in North America. I do notknow Scudder & Cannings (2006) so I cannot comment on whether it any good or not. Paul - - - - Paul Beuk on https://diptera.info |
