My first post so I hope it comes out ok. Arista bare, eye obviously hairy. No parafacial bristles. Facial ridge without bristles above apex of 3rd antennal segment. Palps yellowish at least in apical half. 2 sternopleural bristles. All dorsal surfaces with patterns of grey/silver and dark. 4 scutellar marginals including crossed apicals much smaller than others. All tergites with marginal bristles. Legs entirely black. 22/8/2010 Whisby Nature Park, Lincoln SK923669 Nemorilla florealis? Images courtesy of blowave more views to follow... |

Hi Phil - to upload photos remember that the filenames must not include spaces or unnecessary punctuation and the file size should be <190KB ![]() The features you listed would require following through the key or a photographic memory of the many dozens of features on each species so I'll wait for the photos if you don't mind However, if it has humeral-callus bristles in a forward-pointing triangle and only white hairs on the back of the head then it might be Nemorilla ![]() EDIT: to try again just edit the original post and choose the file you want to upload, before saving the post
