Hi Andrzej. like Brian, I am turning up a lot of Heleomyzids in Southern England just now, but don't have the literature to ID them (yet!) a good number are a very close visual match to Brian's photo. what has one to look for to be absolutely sure it's S. variegata? Mark |

Well, very simple are the combinations of the strongly marked wings, the hairs on the sides of the thorax and plumose antenna's. With this combination you most likely have a S. variegata. ruud van der weele rvanderweele@gmail.com |
