I've collected this lauxaniid in Gerês in the North of Portugal. Is it possible to identify it? date: 24/07/2010 Rui Andrade attached the following image: ![]() [55.48Kb] |

if it were a UK species I would be inclined to say that it has a Meiosimyza rorida "look" to it, but would need to see more detail to be sure. |

Am I right that I notice only 1 bristle on the sternopleuron? What about the ac's? Are there 4 rows? What about the size of these bristles? And to be positive about rorida, we should know whether there is a line of tiny bristles on the innerside of the first pair of femurs ruud van der weele rvanderweele@gmail.com |

It really seems to be only one bristle on the sternopleuron (the one from the left side looks broken). I think I only see 3 big ac's behind the transverse suture, are these the ones you are talking about? And it does seem like there are indeed the tiny bristles you are talking about. It looks like a M. platycephala then. I do not see the typical tiny bristles of rorida. And rorida has 2 bristles on the sternopleuron ruud van der weele rvanderweele@gmail.com |
