hi flyforum, This fly was a close company to some Vespula vulgaris. Perhabs the sap of the plant was interesting? The Vespula vulgaris where nibbling on the stalk of the plant and flies where around it, mostly this Sarcophaga sp. (?). IS it Sarcophaga sp.? Looks very interesting. Apical scutellar bristles are lacking and the calyptra seems to be small. It is not Frauenfeldia. I reminds me of female Angioneura acerba (Calliphoridae), but very long shot. Robert, can you indicate its size ? Theo |

It is very difficult to see, but it seems the calyptra really is small. Which would exclude nearly everything. Theo |
