I wonder if someone could help me out with what I thought were female Nemotelus uliginosus and Nemotelus notatus that I photographed on a local site. Reading up on them revealed that both are flies of coastal/saline habitats which doesn't fit with where I found them. I am wondering if my IDs are wrong. If anyone could confirm/correct them I would be very grateful. Nemotelus ?uliginosus. 2010-06-23. Leicestershire, UK. On unimproved grassland, several seen on Oxford Ragwort (Senecio squalidus). Many thanks for that. At least I'm not totally off-beam then. Do my identifications look reasonable to you? David |
