Hi Shar, Paul and I posted at virtually the same time, so I think we were both making the same guess. The bristles on the hind metatarsus suggest the genus Dolichopus, and the combination of yellow femora, black lower post-ocular hairs (the fringe visible behind the sides of the head) and more than one (forward-pointing)pre-apical bristle on each of the mid- and hind-femora point to the common species ungulatus. The general appearance looks OK and the experts haven't contradicted us - yet ![]() Stephen. |
