Tachinidae, NE HU, 06.2010 (2)

This tachinid is about 10 mm, in forest, similar to the other specimen postes as Tachinidae, NE HU, 06.2010 (1).

Are there any apical scutellar bristles and does it have a large bristle at the base of the costa?

That's good - I am confident about Phyllomya now Phyllomya volvulus is the normal species in Central & Northern Europe but you might have other species down there that I am unaware of That said, FaunaEuropaea only shows Phyllomya procera as an alternative for Europe and it isn't listed as being in Hungary ... but I suspect that the region is just under-collected Just catch any tachinid you can and send them off to me or Theo and we'll increase the Hungarian species list nicely
