Hello,
I found this flies in Austria, Kärnten, Plöckenpass (ca. 1400 m), 9.6.10 on Cirsium. Could this be Thephritis?

This is Tephritis hyoscyami (Linnaeus, 1758), but as I know the larvae of this fly are feeding on the Carduus thistle.

Contingently it was Carduus...I feel not confident.
