Hello
I've a doubt for this syrph, the shape on the abdomen ant the thorax means to me Myathropa florea, but he is very large and very yellow for Myathropa ??

What do you mean

Thank you

No doubt - Myathropa florea male. They can vary in size and in brightness, but no other European syrphid has that particular combination of thoracic and abdominal markings.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
