Bibio sp female (brown), NE HU, 05.2010

Hi, this Bibio was by a brook, some 5 mms long. I could not come to any good conclusion, but maybe B. handlirschi? Or a dark B reticulatus?

I'm very conservative with IDing female of Bibio, especially from picture, since this is very tricky. Best to use the key by Verbeke using the posterior spurs. That said, this seems to be a female of reticulatus. Theo |
