Yet another of these found on my greenhouse door yesterday. Size 5mm-ish. Distinctive mouth might aid identification?

I think this one is a Paregle audacula ... I see one relative strong hair between the 2 notopleurons + hindtibia with av + mouth strong protuding and acrostichals broad. But i don't see the av on the midtibia (maybe not visible on the photo or broken..?) And prealar seems long..? A better view on the hairs of the hindtibia maybe could help.. Joke |

Hi Joke Thanks for taking time out from your studying to look at this fly .I've looked through old threads on P.audacula and it does look the part. I haven't got any other views of this fly as it disappeared after the third photo. Maybe the Bishop of Dorset MA. will run an eye over it, but he hasn't appeared for a while... ![]() Regards Roger |
