Despite my last post that was completely ignored I don't lost faith on DI. Maybe this (anthomyiid???) can be named... Seems to have a series of black spots in the abdomen (bad seen).Found few days ago resting in a Ephedra in Peñaflor, Aragon, NE Spain, 300 meters over sea, continental mediterranean climate. ![]() ![]() Thanks! Finally this is a Phaonia and not an Hellina. It's possible to recognize the species? |

From these photos I don't think anyone will be able to improve on Stephane's answer. |

Isidro, if Stephane says it is Helina, I would stick at that opinion ![]() And with 46 species of nearly 'impossible' ones in Spain, I think there are little chances of getting the right one These little devils are a nightmare ![]() |

Piluca, you're not the only thinking in Phaonia instead Hellina ![]() What a shame. Just my first Phaonia that I asked here, was identified to species level, giving me the impression of an easy genus. But the second and this one, will remain as "impossible flies". Probably I will delete the photo from my PC ![]() Thanks everybody for replying! |
