small Tachinid - Microsoma

Hi, This is a small fly of today. (The light was very bad, so these are my best pics.) I consider it a Rhinophorid resembling Rhinophora lepida, but the latter looks a bit different on my earlier photos. The new one is somewhat shorter as to abdomen and also petiolus. Looks like Microsoma exiguum (Tachinidae).

Indeed it does! And I should have recognized it ... Oh, that petiole, how often did it lead me in the wrong direction (in this case, to Rhinophoridae). The only thing I may be proud of is that I excluded Rhinophora lepida. Microsoma it is, thanks! |
