Which one is the male and which one the female? Does anyone perhaps know the species? These are tiny 3 to 4mm fruit flies that feed on pollen. Taken at our local Botanical Garden in South Africa. Any help will be appreciated.

Tephritidae: Desmella sp. cf. anceps Lw. (or, less possible, Campiglossa sp. ex ignobilis group). Wing pattern is poorly visible. Wonderful shot!!! Of course, the lady is below, and the gent is above. But whatta kamasutra! Edited by Nosferatumyia on 04-05-2010 21:36 Val |
