is this Rhamphomyia? if so which? Caught Surrey, UK in May, on vegetation on the Banks of the River Mole. I tried to key this using Collin (1961) and got very lost. Scale 10 = 1mm Mark-uk attached the following image: ![]() [152.45Kb] |

Many thanks Igor That is much better than what I was keying too. I will need to go backward though Collins Key to see where I was going wrong. My only hesitation is Rhamphomyia laevipes rather uncommon in the UK, (at least as reported on NBN http://www.dipteristsforum.org.uk/sgb_nbn_map.php?id=NBNSYS0000012382 ) There are also very minor differences from my specimens genitalia and the Collins but these could be down to Collin drawing being taken from a flattened slide mount? |
