Sorry about the quality of the first shot - I had the wrong camera settings. These were flying in a loose swarm by a hawthorn (Crataegus) tree and settling on the tree and nearby wall. I found some more yesterday in another place behaving in the same way, this time on a holly tree. I struggled to key the genus, and ended up looking through Ackland's genitalia plates till I found the right one awkward

When costa is bare and midtibia has an ad (and mesolobus seems black and shining) ....it is!

Glad I'm not the only one finding the genitalia plates a superb resource - a real timesaver - although I use the keys once I've made a choice.
