Specimen found dead, probably not recently. Is a subject which i had never seen. These pictures are not exceptional, you can at least identify the family? Thanks 03-04-10, Cavriglia (Arezzo - Italy) ff57 attached the following image: ![]() [121.11Kb] |

A genus represented by 5 species in Italy. Recently published article on Stratiomyidae of Sardinia may be interesting on this matter. www.mapress.com/zootaxa/2009/f/zt02318p530.pdf |

Thanks a lot for the link! BTW, if somebody has a key to the different species of Chorisops, I will be very happy to receive it! ruud van der weele rvanderweele@gmail.com |

An old revision on Chorisops by Nagatomi (1964) with a key to two species only. http://eprints.lib.hokudai.ac.jp/dspace/handle/2115/9716 |
