Hi, Ten days ago I came across this sunbathing Muscid. It did not allow for a shot from above, so I hope the side-face will do. The arista is feathery. Seen in a riding stable on Rugia close to the Baltic shore. Thanks for help, Sundew Sundew attached the following image: ![]() [120.11Kb] |

Well, I should have recognized that common species! However, the Ph. subventa pics of my collection looked a bit different to me. The bristles of the head, though similarly arranged, seemed to be not that long and eye-catching (see below). So I thought it might be another species.
