Mouth margin strongly produced, 4 post DC, head longer than high. Is it a male of Egle ciliata ?

Difficult to count with so many hairs, but indeed on the right side of the thorax i also count 4 dc
There is also a simular one (Egle brevicornis)
E.brevicornis has a anterior dorsal seta on t2 and about 6 av on t3..and E.ciliata has not...
I think i do not see any ad setae, so E.ciliata should be right.

Thanks for thoses precisions,
I thought Egle brevicornis could be elimininated with the shape of the head : head distinctly higher than long, and lower facial margin less projected in front than in my pictures. So it isn't enough ?

Always a bit confusing with the "the head longer then high"
I tried to make an example with a Egle brevicornis and Egle ciliata.
Not the best photos, but ok..awkward

We can see well the different in color (E.ciliata much darker)
And the differents between the hairs on thorax (E.ciliata much more haired)

And then the ....hight.
I see some differents, but i don't know if i am right with the beginning of the lines...?

Comparing with the photos, .....i think Egle ciliata is right for your fly !

Thanks a lot SmileSmile
I'd never seen pictures of brevicornis, so it's very nice to see your pictures. The lower facial margin is also clearly less projected in front in brevicornis than in ciliata.
Is it possible to post also a picture of the head in dorsal view ?

Now i have a problem..!!!
When i was buzy to make photos of the head of E.ciliata and brevicornis males.... i saw , a very broad frontal vitta at E.brevicornis...?!
So i get doubt !
According to Hennig , both species should have the eyes touching....
But......i also see clearly 4 dorco centrals. (and only E.brevicornis / ciliata has !!)
Shock

Also the brush of hairs on the hindfemur gives doubt and the leg chaetotaxy fits more to D.radicum-group
So i think.... i have a Delia radicum with 4 dc GrinGrinGrin

Now i can't give you the promised photos.
I only have a female.

I just go get grazy tonight and put my eyes again into the microscoop, with this strange problem.
