I'm SO happy to have found this site with it's extensive collection of photos and info. I've used bugguide before but they only allow US and Canada since a while back. To the questions. I've attached a photo of the "fly" I'm wondering about. I'm thinking this is a Pahonia errans, female. Photo taken in South of Sweden August 11 2008. Eager to hear how far off I am ![]() Btw, how do I see if it's a male or female? Is it by the spacing between the eyes? Probably Phaonia angelicae, but the angle of view is not ideal to guarantee anything.
