Did you really measure it ?
Looks like a Tabanus in the bromius complex, can't be more than 15 mm.

Most probably you are right, I don't remember what size had this fly...and i think you can't say more without specimen...but thanks anywaySmile

I don't think that the specimen have eye-band. Please take a look :

You can't see the eyeband from this point of view, nor from any other in your pictures.
We would need a more frontal view.
That is why I asked about it
