Any thoughts on a name for this Australian Asilidae? Photo taken 12 December 2009 in a nature reserve, Canberra. About 25mm. The victim appears to be a small Scarabaeidae beetle.

Another view. The impression in the field was of a coal black fly, with a spot of red on the abdomen. Looking at the photos I see there is a hint of iridescence too.

This is another specimen, but I think the same species, and the victim appears to be the same too. Taken the same day a few metres away from the first one.
