Is it an Eumea ? (8mm, Belgium, 14-10-2009) At the same time and same place than the tachinidae 1 of my last post. Christine Devillers attached the following image: ![]() [187.34Kb] Edited by Christine Devillers on 20-01-2010 20:25 |

Thanks, I've seen in the key of Theo that when the 5 black vittae on the thorax are well visible (even at the rear part) it should be Eumea linearicornis. Is it a female of that species ? |

Thanks Theo, so the rarer one ?Could you tell the feature(s) that make you think mitis rather than linearicornis ? |

well, i didn't claim I was 100 % sure. But the general greyish colouration strongly suggests mitis. ANd mitis has a relatively strong second generation in September (- October), so that fits quite nicely Theo |

Thanks again Theo ![]() I know those identifications can't be sure 100% and I'm really very happy with "probably mitis". |
