Preventing mold in moist relaxing jar

How do you prevent mold in relaxing jars? I tried naphthalene but it doesn't seem to help.
I also heard about using laundry bleach but I think it could harm the insect.

I use a small vial of liquid phenol placed in the bottom of the jar. Works like a charm. Smile
