This is just the ptilinum which has not yet retracted into the head. |

Now I know the species name ![]() With my key to Rhinophoridae (Draber-Monko,1989) it is Phyto melanocephala. Lukasz |

Phil is right. That is no more than an inflated ptilinum . Sometimes with some flies the ptilinum doesn't go into... not a nice thing.
