Pale 2mm Drosophilidae

Hello Smile

I found this on a rotting Arisaema tuber which had earlier had some white fungus-like growths around the top on the surface.

Approx. 2mm long, date 29th November.

Location, a few miles south of Lincoln UK.

Any help appreciated. 2 pics but I have more.

Oh not a Drosophilidae,Pfft they seem as bad as Lauxaniidae to get an ID.

Hoping Paul does some mulling...Wink

Freshly emerged, difficult to say anything about it. Perhaps if you kept the specimen...?

I think it is not belongs to Lauxaniidae according to its sparse antennal arista and vibrasse on mouth margin. Smile

there are lauxaniids with vibrissae.. also with some long rays in arista...

True, but I have never seen a Lauxanid with a "forked" arista. As far as I can see the fly on the photo has this typical fork
