Hello, this Tabanus is from july from the austrian alps. Length was about 15mm. Does someone have an idea about the species? There are other views from above and from the front too, if needed. Thank you for your answer. These tabanidae look totally similar to me. What is the difference between Tabanus and Philipomyia? Eye color? Michael |

Philipomyia - basicosta bare, eyes brigt greenish. Tabanus - basicosta strngly setulose, eyes greyish or brownish, sometimes with one to three stripes. Libor |
