Has anybody idea to which genus may belongs this small Lauxaniidae (not Homoneura). There are several other species looking similar. Thailand, Chantaburi, 01 Nov, wet places Nikita Vikhrev attached the following image: ![]() [117.14Kb] Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |

Phil, It looks like the P-bristles are converging though. Shouldn't they be diverging for Odiniids, well in Europe anyway. Gordon (I just remembered I photographed some flies earlier today, better see if any of them are in focus.) |

No key to check, but why not Chamaemyiidae, then?

How many chamaemyids with setulose arista do you know? How many odiniids with entirely developed pterostigma have you seen? IMHO, a lauxaniid, though I cannot tell the genus ( have at most Shatalkin's key to PA genera, but it does not cover all the Oriental stuff). Edited by Nosferatumyia on 01-11-2009 21:30 Val |

And there are 2-3 related species looking as mor typical Lauxaniidae, without this silver pollinosity. Thank you. May be Katka knows genus... Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |

Absolutely Lauxaniidae! However, this is not one I've seen before - I can't reliably place the genus! Nice! |

Thank you, Steve. I had 2 specimens from previous years. This year it is relatively common. Nikita Vikhrev - Zool Museum of Moscow University |
