Hi! These two 8 mm flies were sunbathing on a tree trunk two days ago (northwest Germany). For me thy do NOT look like the numerous P. subventa and surely also not like P. rufiventris (more or less dark scutellum). May they be Phaonia bitincta? Phaonia subventa / rufiventris / bitincta looks sometimes very simulair, the different we can see on the midtibia and the lenght of the hairs on the arista. And they are not visible enough on your photo... ![]() Second one Anthomyiidae (maybe a Pegomya sp.) Joke van Erkelens Edited by javanerkelens on 27-10-2009 22:30 |

Thanks, Joke! After sending the pics I was suspecting, too, that the second one might be Anthomyiidae... Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |
