Hello to all!
As far as I know, the Asilids looking like this are quite difficult even in the comparatively limited European fauna (right?). Nevertheless, can there be named at least a genus or subfamily?

These three very nice photos show a male Regasilus strigarius (Asilinae). Please add these to the gallery if possible.

Hi Eric!
You know even the species! Thanks a lot for this and the genera of the two others!
I'll submit the pics for the gallery tonight, so they should appear there within the next days.
Best greetings
Rupert

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
