Only one angle, I'm afraid, but this crop may make it easier to see short-plumose arista and hairy scutellum. I don't know what else may be important?

Thank You Andrzej, you just cost me a pint.Frown Imagine betting on the outcome of an ID for a fly, I think I'll patent it. I'll never win anything myself.

Roger

Luckily the terms of the bet were a bit vague so instead of losing a pint of Malt Whisky, I managed at the last moment to alter it to Malt Vinegar.
Sorry Stephen Grin. Hope you like Chips.

Thanks Andrzej, I knew I could rely on you Smile

Roger, I'll come and collect my winnings sometime when the weather's better up there GrinGrinGrin . A few more years of global warming should do the trick.

By that time you'll be able to use your bus pass to get to Aberdeen, followed by a 12-14 hour boat trip or very expensive flight, followed by long bus journey (bus pass again), another bus journey (bus pass yet again). On knocking on my door you will be told by my neighbours that I am on holiday in Madeira and will have to repeat the process. Have a nice journey Wink.

Regards (The elusive) Roger.

Best fish and chips in the world up here, so not a totally wasted trip.....Pick up your Malt Vinegar there, charge it to me....just mention my name @ The Fort Chipshop, Lerwick.

Many thanks Andrzej! Floreat scientia Cool

Roger, can I recommend the East Anglian village of Madingley? Or maybe Luneville in France? Are you sure that mentioning your name in Lerwick would be a smart move? Pfft

Stephen.
