Hi, Yesterday Juergen posted a big Suillia that recalled one I saw some days ago. S. smilis was said to have a long pubescent arista. The arista of my fly isn't smooth, but is it sufficiently pubescent to recognize that species? Many thanks, Sundew Sundew attached the following image: ![]() [111.24Kb] |

Hello Claudia ! very difficult to say ... The arista is rather short pubescent because the diameter of the aristal hairs is near the width of the basal aristal segment :-( Andrzej Edited by Andrzej on 05-10-2009 11:32 dr. A. J. Ha - these Suillias are annoying... So this fat one will join the nameless team, too. Many thanks nevertheless, dear Andrzej! |
