Hello,

this syrphidae larva is from july from my garden in western germany, where I found it on the underside of a leaf with many aphididae.

Looking through old threads I think it could be a Syrphus larva. Is this correct? Or what else could it be?

Thanks,
Michael

it also seems Syrphus to me, it seems the colour is variable (there are 3 colour forms just for S ribesii), try Rotheray guide, itīs nice, but check the records there
nice pic Smile

Hello paqui,

many thanks for your answer. I have syrphidae larvae only rather rarely, but perhaps I will wish the book for chrismas.

Greeting,
Michael
