I think Paul sent this one as a test before deciding to banish me to a remote island in the North Atlantic along with the other troublemakers. It appeared on the kitchen window on Friday (but made no effort to help with housework - something about a contract or an indemnity I think). I spotted that it wasn't Lauxaniidae this time (long anal vein, divergent post-verticals) and stumbled through the keys before arriving at this. I nearly ended up in Sciomyzidae (Tetanocera arrogans) but couldn't reconcile the lack of femoral bristles. Have I learnt anything at all in the last few months? Next time I'll take a face profile! Phew, that's a relief. Wasn't looking forward to a diet of rotting seaweed. |
