20-27- V - 2008 Tilburg, Kaaistoep West Netherlands RD-coor: 128-394 from Mal.trap Confusing fly. It has hairs on both sides of the radial node.....so Mydaea is possible...but nothing fits. But I don't know any Phaonia with hairs on the radial node on both sides. Eyes haired Arista long haird Katepimeron haired Calli + partly scutellum yellow No hairs on the meron A phaonia like pd seta (one hair on each radial note, but ventral also two longer hairs on the beginning of vein R2+3) Joke van Erkelens javanerkelens attached the following image: ![]() [94.39Kb] Edited by javanerkelens on 13-09-2009 12:43 |

Except the setulae on dorsal radial node (mistery), all seems to point to Phaonia mediterranea...

You are great ! ![]() According to Hennig there is een resemblance with P.errans! And the hairs on the R2+3 are mistaken and are indeed on vein R4+5. And sternite 1 is setulose (whit 3 strong hairs ad the end) The only mistery is indeed the seta on dorsal radial node. (checked again, but it is there) A nice catch, would please Jan Willem also I think..!! (not found yet in the Netherlands) Many thanks Joke ![]() Edited by javanerkelens on 13-09-2009 12:42 |
