Hello, I photographed this ~7mm fly in july near a small water near Cologne. In the gallery I found Beris vallata which seems to fit rather well. Is this correct? Or are there similar species? Yellow abdomen, hind tibia half black distally = vallata, in Britain at least; I don't know about Germany. Tim |

Early orange-abdomened Beris tend to clavipes, later ones tend to be vallata, so that would also fit.
