Very nice - looks like Bithia spreta - usually a rare fly but it seems to be having a good year this year - or there are just more people looking for them ![]() BTW, where did you see it? Can you PM me the full data for our records? ahhhhh... I think you are right Jaakko ... I must be going "Bithia"-mad, after finding a few here ... Solieria would be much more likely and I think there are 2 pairs of scutellars so it would seem correct ![]() Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London. |

Just checked a higher res image and there are certainly two pairs of scutellar bristles - Solieria sp it is - many thanks everyone ![]() Tristan |
