Thank you, clould you take a look at this: http://www.flickr...4/sizes/o/ and see if it is the same species? Someone identified it as C. loewiana.

And how stupid of me to post that fist pic alone, I looked through my mess again and found this, I must have forgotten to post it because it was in my "to id folder" together with the pic over.

Sorry for the mess Valery.

Looking at in the gallery I am not able to tell C. absinthii or C. loewiana apart there either, but here's a finished pic of the same (this) specimen if that helps.

Hi Hakon
Nice photo's in your site, but I didn't see any mention of Diptera.info and the good people here who determined the species of the flies you have on show. This is not only aimed at yourself, but to all who show their images elsewhere....Credit where credit is due. Smile

Regards Roger

Anepisternal seta on the last picture is hardly visible, but it is rather black than white, and the wing pattern details looks closer to C. loewiana, and from that picture I ID it as C. loewiana, indeed.

I'd prefer to see the male terminalia in each case, but... well, it is not a porn site, anyway.

Valery: Thank you for taking the time to id.

Roger: I agree, but people might have different feelings about their names being mentioned on other sites. I can add a tag that says "diptera.info", and I should keep a list over over who id'ed what for my self and for cases like this Smile

I have tried to give back by contributing pics for the gallery.

edit: typos

Nikita isn't known as the "Moscow Mule" for nothing, and Jorge" Pizza Delivery Boy "Almeida might also disagree with you Valery. Also Andre looks a bit of a porn star in the Portraits Gallery (Sorry Andre).
Tony Irwin and I both have Avatars of Tipulids arses (different life stages), and the amount of copulating flies.....sheer porn for flies..Grin.

Regards (Roger) Check out what that means in the dictionary....I rest my case.
