Mid July in Jura (Mesnois near Lons les Saunier), ca 400 m altitude. Small patch of rough terrain, grass and shrubs, surrounded by trees. Meadows around, cows occasionally grazing in patch too.

Medium sized Tabanid. Seems to be Atylotus, but which?
